OSAT defense platforms/ defensive mines
Earth and Centauri had planetary defense platforms around their homeworlds within the series. Fandom has designed Narn and Minbari platforms so it is now reasonable to predict that other empires have such stations as well. I would like to use these stations to act as planetary rings and as mine fields to be deployed.
One Narn minefield said that Narn ships were immune from the field so I propose that all empire ships are immune from their own mines all over the board.
In the case with an OSAT ring they will serve as the first round of defense for their target. They can be deployed around a planet or station. When a ship arrives to attack the base the ring must be destroyed first before any damage is assigned to the interior target. OSATs are one density thick but surround the planet.
Direction: 360
Distance: typical light and heavy weapon ranges
Strength: Noted on the token
When deployed as a minefield their density is determined by how many are deployed from the mine-capable ship. Mine capable ships are considered a special weapon and it is noted on the token along with the vessel's carrying capacity. Mine fields can be upgraded in density by adding more mines to them, the mine token is simply swapped for the appropriate version.
Direction: 360
Range: typical light and heavy weapon ranges
Strength: noted on the token- varies depending on density.
